A photograph of this pattern sword appears on page of SWORDS OF GERMANY / by John R. Angolia as an Emil Voos pattern. Gilded brass hilt fittings show light wear to highlights of the well detailed pommel, oak leaf embellished backstrap and knuckle-bow with open wing eagle on obverse langet. This beautiful example is unmarked but is a textbook Carl Julius Krebs Nr. 3. This sword came from the Fisk collection, of which many examples are photographed in the book “Swords of Germany /” by John Angolia. 32” blade has beautiful original bright finish and was never sharpened. Still has original leather washer at the base.

This book was first published in and has been out of print for decades. Although there is no trademark on the blade ricasso, this is, obviously, a Carl Julius Krebs Model 4 creation (see page of the John Angolia Swords of Germany reference book). Direct veteran family purchase. Extremely nice sword with no major flaws.
